About Us — English-Speaking Psychologists in Frankfurt

Behind our practice are two English-speaking psychologists in Frankfurt: Anna Hanig and Marlena Kalina. Both of us are Diplom-Psychologinnen (university degree in psychology) and licensed psychological psychotherapists with more than ten years of clinical experience. We founded this practice with a simple conviction: good psychotherapy is structured, honest and tailored to the person in front of us — not to a textbook.

How we work

Our therapeutic foundation is cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), complemented by schema therapy. Both are evidence-based methods with a strong track record for depression, anxiety, burnout and many other concerns. What this means for you in practice:

  • Transparency. You will always know what we are doing in therapy and why. No mystery, no vague process.
  • Structure with room to breathe. We work towards goals we define together — but a session always has space for what is on your mind that day.
  • Honesty. If we believe a different form of treatment would serve you better, we will tell you and help you find it.

Why qualifications matter

In Germany, anyone can call themselves a “coach” or “counsellor” — these titles are not protected. Psychologische Psychotherapeutin, by contrast, is a legally protected title requiring a psychology degree, several years of state-regulated clinical training and a state licence (Approbation). It is the qualification German and international health insurers rely on when reimbursing psychotherapy. When choosing a therapist — in any language — we encourage you to ask about qualifications. You are entitled to know.

Our practice

You will find us at Neue Kräme 32, in the middle of Frankfurt’s city centre — a few minutes’ walk from Hauptwache and Römerberg. Sessions are also available online.
