Fees & Insurance

Clear information before you start: here you will find how psychotherapy, couples therapy and coaching at our Frankfurt practice are billed, what private and international health insurance typically covers, and our self-pay rates.

Private German health insurance and Beihilfe

As licensed psychological psychotherapists, we bill according to the official German fee schedule. Private health insurers and Beihilfe (for civil servants) usually reimburse psychotherapy with licensed psychotherapists in full. We recommend confirming with your insurer before the first session.

Many international and expat health plans cover outpatient mental health treatment when it is provided by a state-licensed psychotherapist — which is the case in our practice. Check your policy for “outpatient psychotherapy” or “mental health” coverage and any session limits. You will receive detailed invoices suitable for submission to your insurer.

We are a private practice and cannot bill German statutory health insurers (gesetzliche Krankenversicherung) directly. If you are publicly insured, sessions are self-funded at the rates below.

Self-pay rates

ServiceRate
Therapy session (long-term therapy)€153.03
Therapy session (short-term therapy)€167.58
Coaching session€167.00
Couples therapy (75 minutes)€230.00

Couples therapy and coaching are generally not covered by health insurance and are self-funded.

ERSTGESPÄCH

There is a fee for the 50-minute initial consultation, which is typically covered by private health insurance and the government health subsidy.

Options include short-term therapy lasting 24 hours and long-term therapy lasting up to 60 hours, both of which can be extended on a case-by-case basis. Therapy sessions last 50 minutes and generally take place once a week. The fee for therapy sessions is based on the Fee Schedule for Psychotherapists (GOP) and amounts to 153.03 euros (billing code 860) per session for long-term therapy and 167.58 euros (billing codes Analog 801 and Analog 812) for short-term therapy.

The fee for individual behavioral therapy sessions conducted in a foreign language is also based on the Fee Schedule for Psychotherapists (GOP) and amounts to 153.03 euros (billing code 860) per session for long-term therapy and 167.58 euros  (billing codes Analog 801 and Analog 812) for short-term therapy.

Coaching is not a service covered by health insurance. We charge 167 euros for a 50-minute individual session. A coaching program typically consists of between 1 and 10 sessions.

The cost of couples therapy sessions cannot be covered by either public or private health insurance. A session lasts 60 minutes and usually takes place with both partners present. Our fee for a session is 200 euros.

Individual sessions as part of couples therapy last 50 minutes and are billed at 167 euros.

Appointments must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance. The exception to this rule applies to Monday appointments, which must be canceled by 12:00 p.m. on the preceding Friday.

Please understand that we will privately bill you the full hourly rate for any missed appointments, appointments not canceled in a timely manner, or appointments that can no longer be held due to excessive tardiness.
